What is Cupping Therapy?
Cupping Therapy is an ancient alternative medicine therapy that utilizes special “cups” to create suction in specific locations of the body to increase blood flow and reduce pain and deep tissue inflammation within the body. The cups are applied with minimal pressure and suction which is caused by the heat within the cup when placed on the body.
There are different types and sizes of cups that are utilized for Cupping Therapy. Some cups use heat to create suction to the skin, while other cups use a vacuum cup to create suction without heat as seen in the picture.

How does Cupping Therapy Work?
The skin is the biggest organ of the human body. Toxins in the body will float around in the layers of the skin and deep tissue. Cupping Therapy is said to “pull the unhealthy toxins up to the surface” allowing healthy blood and oxygen flow to the needed areas. This allows the toxins to be flushed out through the lymphatic system, kidneys and liver.
How long does it take for the Cupping Marks to Fade?
The cupping marks can last up to a week on the body. Most often, the cupping circles will start to fade within 3 days. If the person’s body is suffering from chronic pain or has high toxin levels or candida yeast, is extremely stressed, or other physical and mental ailments the cupping marks could last past a week on the skin.
